How do I prevent the clipboard tool on the keyboard from copying unnecessary links?

There have been so many times the clipboard will copy something that I don't intend on copying. I thought you would need to press down for a certain amount of time but it will copy something if I just tap it accidently. I've tried looking for setting on my phone but have found no solutions.

It should only catch when pressed down , which device ? Maybe try different keyboard like Google Gboard or Swiftkey. But what ever it copies you can erase from your clipboard , I haven't seen one copy with a tap though.

Its the Samsung Galaxy a71. I switched to GBoard but I have the same issue. I'll just be scrolling through Discord or something then it randomly copies a link when I barely touched it. I'm not sure if its a Discord problem or a phone problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Accessibility>Interaction and dexterity>Touch and hold delay and change that to Medium or Long, and see if that cuts down on the problem.

I agree with mustang7757, poorly designed or poorly fitted protectors can cause problems with touch.
