How do I record a greeting on my Samsung 5 cell phone?

If you're located in the US, just call your own phone number and you'll be given options, one of which is to record a greeting.

Correct - that's something done via the voicemail system from your carrier.

The prompt may say something like "for administrative options, press 4" and in that section you'll find where to adjust your greeting.

If you get stuck, give your carrier's customer service line a call and they should be able to help navigate the system.
