How do I remove a birthday from calendar after updating contact birthday info

I recently removed some birthdays from contacts that I no longer wanted cluttering up my calendar. Family and close friends I chose to keep. If I look at the contacts, the birthdays have been removed. However, they are still showing up on my Google calendar. Refresh is of no use. I also turn off birthdays, and turned back on. No help here either.

Can someone clue me in on how this can be updated? Thanks for any help.

Are you saying you turned off the birthday calendar in your gmail account? (Not just from your device)?
Perhaps removing the birthday calendar and then adding it back to your account would work, as it will scan your contacts.
Also, facebook puts birthdays on your calendar, so you may want to check to see if they appear as well. If they do, I would change the google birthday calendar to another color and then you can see which ones belong to which calendar.

I don't have a Facebook account.
I have several contacts that I edited and removed the "birthday" entry for the contact. However, the birthday for these edited contacts STILL show up in my calendar. I can't seem to refresh so the calendar updates without the birthdays. If I toggle the birthday calendar for Google, ALL the birthdays disappear and then reappear, nothing changes.

I want the calendar to refresh with the updated contact info, meaning I do NOT want the birthdays to show for the contact I just edited.

Thanks
