I was added to a group text at work. I have since left that job, but they won't remove me. I cannot block these numbers because I still work with them from time to time. However, my phone going off constantly is getting me in trouble at my current job. I use my phone for work so silencing it isn't an option. Please help! I can't seem to find the option to remove myself. Where did android move it.

Have you tried highlighting the group text message and muting it?

Why not reply back to everyone but delete your cell so you'll no longer be part of said group??

That or place everyone on " ignore " I've done both haaaaa!!

Unfortunately, I still get notifications that I have missed messages when muted. Since I currently work from my phone, it makes me check my phone constantly to make sure it isn't work related. This severely interferes with my work day and it's creating issues. I need to be removed from the thread.

Welcome to Android Central! Which messaging app are you using?

On the Google Messages app, if I open the message thread, then tap the group header at the top, I get details about the group. There's a "Leave group" option there. If you're using Google Messages, do you see that? (If you don't use Google Messages, consider installing it and make it your default messaging app.)

you could see (Leave Group button) At the bottom of the screen tap, when you Tap the conversation's name to bring up the Group Details menu?

Get better friends if they can't respect your wishes...

A more productive answer can only be provided if you mention what messaging app you're even using, let alone which phone.

There is no one size fits all without knowing which messaging app you're using specifically.

If this is an official work group then they could be laying themselves open to criminal privacy charges by refusing to remove you (depending on the law in your country).
