Android Central Question

I added the alarm clock widget to my homescreen and I can not get it off again. It is locked on the screen so it stays in place when I switch between panels. I can not alter its positioning or the alarm that is set to go off at 12:45 am Sunday, Monday, Friday, And Saturday. I can not find a single setting anywhere that gets rid of this thing and I am not able to disable the app. I am hoping to avoid a factory reset but this horrible little widget us making me insane! Please help!

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy note 9, and when i hold on the widget it just dissapears.

Thanks for registering! So when you hold the widget, you can get rid of it? Or are you saying it seems to disappear when you hold it, but when you release, it's back again?

Tap Home Screen Settings in that menu and look for an option to lock the homescreen setup. If that's on, then turn it off, which should allow you to rearrange widgets and icons.

I had the exact same problem and I know how frustrating it is when it disappears when you hold your finger on it to drag it to the bin.

I found this removed it. I have a Samsung A41 and hopefully it will work on yours Cleverfauxpas.

1. go to where the widgets, and wallpaper buttons are ( by holding down your finger on the home screen )
2. Select 'Home Screen settings'
3. Under the 'Home Screen Layout' ( it is the one at the top on my mobile ) select 'Home Screen Only' and select Apply.
4. Go back to your home screen and ALL of the app icons will be shifted to another screen. Plus your alarm widget has disappeared.
5. Go back into the 'Home Screen Layout' and change it back to 'Home and Apps Screens'
6. Voila. Hopefully ( ! ) your alarm widget has gone.
