Good day. Firstly I am a complete notice. I have a Skyworth Set Top Box Model HPA02. It has this annoying pop up screen to pair the bluetooth remote. We do not use the remotes as we use a USB keyboard.

The remote pairing pop up happens almost once every 2 days even if you pair the remote and it stays with the unit. It also happens when the device boots up.

Any idea how I can stop this? I have tried rooting the device with various rooting apps and programs but have been unable to.

It is running: Android Version 8.0.0
Build: SkyworthDigital_HPA02_10102

Below is a list of applications that is on the device. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central.

I tried looking up your issue and only found directions that seem generic for how to stop and prevent pairing requests. This article lists 5+ ways to stop them but we don't know what you've tried beyond the extreme measure of rooting the device. Not sure why it is 5+ and not just the number.

Being that you have rooted your device XDA may be the better place to seek help since they are all about rooting, ROMs and modified devices. This is a link to their Android TV threads where I saw at least a few threads with Skyworth in their titles, so it is being discussed there.

Our Android TV threads are not very busy these days but we can request that your thread be moved to where it might see more specific traffic from other TV users. @B. Diddy @mustang7757 What do you guys think? In the meantime here is a link to those threads.

Best wishes.

Welcome to Android Central! I went ahead and moved it.

Does it help if you turn off Bluetooth, or do you need it on?

Thank you very much for the response.

I had a look at the 5+ article but the settings on the Skyworth media boxes are very limited and cannot find any settings for Bluetooth. Only thing I can find is to unpair the remote and then pair a new device. Have tried this and had no luck.

I now asked the question on XDA as suggest. Hopefully I get some workable solution between there and here.

Best wishes on your issue. I always hate recommending people look elsewhere for answers, especially new folks. Honestly though, there's probably no better place than XDA. We have a root community here but nothing compared to XDA.

We still hope to see you around. Maybe putting your two cents in on someone else's topic.
