How to repartition a Dragon M10X tablet

I have a new Dragon M10X 10" tablet from Amazon where they only repartition for one gig out of 16 possible for apps. So now, of course, it is full. I know I have to repartition it, but I do not know how. It is running Android 4.4.2. Does someone have to write something special to do this tablet, or does any repartitioned software thing work? I don't know much about it, although I've done it a long time ago in the past on a different tablet, but I swore I would not want to do it again, lol.

the tablet seems to otherwise have great build quality and everything is decent. I would like to keep it considering I only had to pay $140 for it new, but since email has already stopped working and as I said the app apps are full, I guess I will probably have to return it if I cannot repartition it.

thanks for your help!

Re: How to repartition a Dragon M10X tablet

You won't be able to re-partition to create more space on the User accessible storage for apps. Short of deleting unused apps, widgets, and services, you will need to consider a device with more capacity for a long term solution.

You can't repartition the device. However, you can EXTEND the internal memory by linking the files over to a partition on an SD card.

I was able to perform a procedure that got me what I needed, and what I think you're looking for:

1)Root the device using Kingo Root. Real simple, as just plugging my PC to the tablet automatically installed usb drivers, and the usb connection was in debug mode by default.
2)Run Root Check from JRummy Apps (installed from app store) to confirm you have root access.
3)Install SuperSU from Chainfire at the android appstore, and enable super user.
4)Take a 16gb micro sd card and :
4a) using freeware tool Minitool Partition Wizard, partition the card into a Primary 10gig fat32 partition as the first partition
4b) add a 2nd partition, set it as Primary also (ignore the windows related warning), with the balance of the space on the card. This is where you apps will be redirected to. 4 Gig is more than you'll need. Format that partition as EXT4.
5) Insert the card into the M10X
6)From the appstore, install Link2SD application. When you run this for the first time, grant it access through SuperSU to be able to run properly. It will prompt you to do so. It will then ask what partition to use to extend the internal memory. Tell it to choose the EXT4 partition on your SD card.

Now you can move your apps to the card. This is similar to, but much better than, the stock Move To SD capability. I know, I filled the tab up quick THAT way. Using Link2SD, I was able to put gobs of apps on the tablet.

And this is better because under EXT4, the security of each application is maintained.

One warning: don't pop out the SD card again while the tablet is up. If you do, you'll have to shut down, insert it again, and power up, else your apps will error because they won't be found.

Note, if Link2SD give you an grief like complaining that the scripts aren't right, under the left hand menu choose "Recreate mount scripts". I had to do that right after the first time I ran it, it was fine thereafter.

Good luck. Report back your experience!
