AC Question

I transfered all the data and settings from my galaxy s6 but my homescreen changed from the s8 homescreen to the s6 homescreen and i am trying tp change it back. Any help please

This is an old thread, but just in case anyone wants to know..

When the phone is powered off, hold down Volume up and Bixby and then the Power button.

- If you immediately release the power button only as soon as the phone starts it will revert the theme, backgrounds and icons to original.

- If you keep holding down all three buttons until you see the Android logo :) you'll get the boot menu.

I forgot about this, so today when I wanted to clear the cache I messed up the looks of my phone once again.

SL2, explain this to me again please? My Samsung Note 8 should be completely off?
While it is off, hold down Volume Up and Bixby buttons, and then turn my phone on while continuing to hold those 2 buttons?

You are describing a hard factory reset here which will delete, remove and reset apps, data, and current settings.

No. You hold all three buttons until the android appears. Then release all three and wait for the menu to appear. You can use the volume buttons to choose what you want to do. You can do a factory data reset or just a cache clean. The cache clean will not delete any settings or data.

Can you clarify what it is you're trying to do? The OP of this thread wasn't quite clear -- I'm not sure what they meant about the S8 homescreen changing to the S6 homescreen.

Did you restore a homescreen setup from a prior phone? When I think "original desktop," I think of the barebones default icon arrangement and folders that the phone started with (typically a couple of folders for Samsung and Google apps, and the typical apps in the favorites tray like Phone, Messaging, etc.

If you go to the theme app, can you see a default theme there?
