Android Central Question

Had to upgrade device for a bank app. App does not work on new device (xgody 4G LTE) for security reasons. Phone is not rooted, whatever that means, checked using Supersu app. SafetyNet test, phone failed on basic integrity and CTS profile match, do know what this means but I'm guessing it has something to do with the bank app not working. I'm no tech head, completely clueless but I believe there is a work around this. Have read something about Magisk which I think might hide whatever is on my phone from the SafetyNet tests and get the bank app working. The problem is I haven't a clue how to install this or what it is. Does anyone have a step by step guide how to do this, assuming the person doing the task hasn't got a clue? Any help appreciated.

There's something wrong with the phone - the bank app most likely fails the SafetyNet test so it fails to run. Magisk will add root to the phone, then hiding it will return the phone to its current condition - so the app will still fail SafetyNet.

You didn't tell us which phone it is (Chinese phones and phones made for limited markets, like India or the Philippines, may be running something so far from Android that there's no way they can pass) or what country the app is for (some poorly-developed apps won't run even though there's nothing wrong with the phone), so we can't go much further. But no, Magisk is not the solution. Maybe knowing which phone it is and where you are would help us to help you.
