How do I run an Android project in the Eclipse I got from a friend?

how to run android project in eclipse got from friend?

I have got an android project from friend, but when i import that code in eclipse, it displays error in several java files and when i build project, R,java file disappeared. so how to know environment of that project and create that environment in my eclipse IDE. Is it possible to build other project(android projrct got from friend) in my eclipse?
