How Do I Save the Photo Only from a Text Message to my Photo File?

I have a few photos on my old Tracfone that I was never able to transfer to my home computer. I am now wanting to send them in text messages to my new smartphone, so I can easily transfer them to my desktop.

How do I save only the photo from a text message to my photo file on the phone? I long tapped the photo thinking I would get a short list of options to save as attachment or file, but I didn't get that. I'm not seeing a way to do that.

Is your old Tracfone the phone you're referring to? Is it the E5 Play?

The E5 Play, I have one photo sent there via message and I want to know how to get the photo from the message into the phone's photo file, so I can plug it into my computer and transfer it.

Find it in a file manager. Then go there with the computer and copy it. As to where it is, you'll have to look.

I thought it had to be in the photo file where pictures taken with the camera are kept. It seems I was just able to save it in messages as a message photo, and transfer it to my desktop from there.

So, problem solved, still getting familiar with using the smartphone. Thanks for your replies and advice!
