How do I send voicenotes via MMS/SMS?

I'm a noob just got the GN after years with the Blackberry. Was used to being able to record a short voice note and sending it as an attachment (as an audio file - not transcribed to text) via MMS or SMS. I've searched the forums and found Note Everything which appears to allow me to "Share" via SMS a note I've recorded, which then sends me to my SMS (Handcent). Then the application freezes and I don't see an attachment. Is there another way - preferably within an SMS app directly?
