How do I stop audio and video apps from automatically playing when bluetooth gets connected?

I know I can force stop media apps before I get in my car, but I imagine there are better options. Some media apps have options in them to change this, and others don't. Is there anything in Android's Settings that I can change?

I definitely don't want to disable bluetooth audio altogether.
