How do I stop cell standby from draining my battery?

Well Darthhen, who stated to exchange the device, said not to exchange for another S6E. I based my response off of that. I assumed that was understood. Oops. xD

Yep, my mistake....must have somehow missed that. But I also said in my most recent response that exchanging for a phone that is on lollipop, but hasn't hit 5.1 yet, still won't solve the issue.... so yea, oops. XD

It isn't a phone issue, it's lollipop.

It seems some people can be smacked in the face with that facts until they're red, and they still won't get it... It's a shame the manufactures have to suffer the blame because people refuse to understand it's a Google issue.

I agree. Other devices are having issues too. They'll fix it eventually.

not trying to be a smart ***, but the only fix I know off is getting an iPhone.

Google has been talking about this for years, starting and ending projects, just calling em different names, yet the problem still hasn't been resolved.

"Doze" is the latest project, and as much as I hope it'll finally work, I'm not holding my breath.

Starting to see it across the board with watches too. It's not just lollipop. It's also Google apps in general causing major issues. At least reseting the watches fixes the issue on the wearable end.

Wouldn't take a locked down iphone if you gave it to me. My battery life is actually pretty good.

lol, me neither! I like my iPad and until I got a Dell XPS, liked my MacBook, but I can't stand the limitations on the iPhone.

I do wish android would work as well or of the box, in that we wouldn't have to disable so many features just to get decent battery life.

Maybe that's why I was able to get 6+hours screen on time today. Was already in the 5s though.

Does it break root? I've been thinking of unrooting to accept the update, but if I can't root again I think I'll wait it out.

how do i stop cell standby from draining my battery

If at home on wi-fi, I go in to airplane mode, enable wi-fi and the cell standby no longer seems to drain the battery. I suppose you could do this on any wi-fi but you lose texting obviously so it is far from ideal.
