How do i stop Galaxy S7 Edge from automatically saving pictures from SMS to the gallery?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it saving the full-sized picture, or just the thumbnail? In the Gallery app, select the photo and tap the Information button--how big is the file, or what resolution does it say it is?

Are you using the built in messaging app or one from the market? I use chomp sms and I can toggle that off in chomp settings.

Thanks. I downloaded the chomp app and removed the others. Problem solved.

What app were you using to begin with as the stock messaging app that came on the phone does not automatically save pictures to the gallery. I don't even see an option that would make it do that.

When I was originally setting up the phone I thought I saw that option somewhere myself. I can not remember where. Maybe it's in an apps setting that has cloud storage. Ugh, wish I could recall where I saw it.
