How do I stop music from playing whenever I insert a headphone plug?

I have an S8 and it insists on starting random music playing whenever I insert a headphone plug using some unidentifiable app or process. Once it starts playing, I cannot find any active music apps in the stack of active apps. And the only way I can get the music to stop is to start a known audio player and play something else, then stop that playback and kill that app. Huge pain in the *** and does nothing to improve my attitude about this miserable OS. Surely there is some setting buried in Settings which I can un-check to get this to stop.
