how do I stop my phone from shutting down randomly

[Android Central Question]

My android RCA 6066 (running android 6)phone shuts down randomly. If I leave the device off for longer periods of time the amount of time before it shuts down increases. When it shuts down I can begin to turn on the device however it often does not get to the main locked screen but shuts itself off at either the main loading screen or the android logo screen. On the rare occasion it gets to the lock screen I can unlock my phone for about 5-6 seconds before it shuts down again and I have to repeat the process. This is a big issue for me since I need my phone to be reliable in case Im called in for work. I have managed to check the battery via the on phone thing (*#*#INFO#*#*) and it did not show an error in the battery. please help me solve this promptly.

Welcome to Android Central! The battery could still be failing -- it could be having increasing difficulty holding a charge. You'd have to bring the phone to a repair shop.

What are the battery levels when it shuts down and when you finally get it booted up again? Does this also happen when plugged in?
