How do I stop the error message Unfortunately Google play services has stopped?

Unfortunately Google play services has stopped

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0
The error message pops up constantly.I see that others have suggested uninstalling the update, However when i click on the Play store app it never loads.

Go to system settings - applications - sort by all - play services. Clear the cache and see if that helps. Let us know how that works.

I'm having the same issue and clearing the cache did not work, unfortunately.

Hi,
I had the same problem , i tried to use old backups and restored the phone but didn't help.
So I tried to disable location services and then problem gone.
I think the location services is working like a timer getting the current location every second or so and probably cause the popup saying "google play..."
For me disabling location services fixed the problem.
Setting > Location > Off
