How do I store long contact numbers?

Hi

I have a samsung Ace 3 dual sim. Android 4.2.2.

I have a number of foreign contacts that I call using tesco international calling card. I store these with the calling card landline first, a pause and then the contact number ending with a hash (020811111111,0027123123123#)

This has worked fine for years now, but I recently noticed that a certain contact number had had the last 6 or 7 digits erased. When I tried to edit the number and add the missing digits, the phone would not allow any further additions to that line/number.

I have checked other numbers stored in the same way (020811111111,0027123123123#)and they have the full number stored correctly.

Any advice on how I can add back the missing numbers on any contacts affected like this?

Is the number being stored in your SIM card? That's the only one I know that limits the amount of information available per contact...

No problem. SIM card memory is very limited, I really don't recommend using it. Especially now that you can store your contacts safely in the cloud and restore them (or manage/edit them online) anytime to any device without a hitch. SIM cards also truncate names and don't have as many custom fields for contacts, so you end up losing info like high-res pictures, notes, etc.

SIM card number storage was created way back when "cloud" only referred to those masses of water in the sky. To carry a number from one phone to another you kept it on the SIM card (and there was only 1 size card).

IMO, they should eliminate SIM card number storage completely. Use the space for something phone-number-account-related instead.
