How do I switch keyboards in Messenger on my phone?

I did something to my phone while in messenger that caused the keyboard to shrink and move to a smaller window that can be moved around within the messenger app. How do I get it back to being larger and be able to rotate between portrait and landscape again?

It's hard to say without knowing which phone you have as software varies greatly between some Android devices.

I know on some Samsung phones if you long press on the microphone on the keyboard it brings up a choice of options. One of them let's me change my keyboard from normal, one handed, and floating.
