How do I sync ios and Android calendars?

My wife has an iphone 6s and I now have an S7. I really need to find a calendar we can both use and sync to as we did when we both had iPhones. Any ideas?

Google Calendar.

Most of Google's apps are on iOS. Everybody is going to have their favorite calendar app, but for me, Google calendar just works. Both mobile and desktop clients.
