How do I take pics at a lower resolution?

My pica come out huge, sometimes I just want to send them in a smaller file size without editing but I don't see a smaller size function.

Using stock camera software, you can't. You can download different camera software on the play store that have the ability.

Agree Google Camera allows you to take pictures at lower resolution and that it isn't possible to set it up with the quick capture wrist twist launch gesture. Another option if you want to send pictures you've already taken at a lower resolution is to use an app like "Reduce Photo Size" available in the Play Store.
