How do I turn off SMS messenger?

I just got a Galaxy J3 Luna Pro today and after setting everything up, I don't know how to turn some things off.

How do I log out of SMS Messenger if regular ol' Messenger is the text system I want to use? I don't want to know every time somebody messages me on Facebook.

And how do I log out of Facebook after setting IT up? My old Alcatel 564C would let me scroll to the bottom and Log Out. There isn't a logout that I can find anywhere.

Is SMS Messenger the stock messaging app that came with the phone? Which app are you referring to when you say "regular ol' Messenger"?

Was this Facebook app preinstalled on the phone, or did you install it from the Google Play Store? It's possible that a preinstalled Facebook app might have a few customizations that aren't seen on the app from the Play Store. On my old Nexus 5, if I open Facebook and tap the Menu button, then scroll all the way down, I still see the Log Out option.
