How do I update emails

I signed in again and refreshed but the phone won't update emails

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone, and which email app are you using--the stock Email? Which email provider do you have? Are you sure the phone's Auto-sync is turned on? Have you tried removing the email account and then adding it back again?
