How do I update my browswer?

I have an Android Motorola Tablet. Model Xoom and Android version 4.1.2
How do I update the browser, and how do I get rid of the message "Cannot make a secure connection" on a couple of my browsing sites?

That tablet has likely run its course at this point. That Android version is 6 years old and is no longer supported by Google. With Google no longer supporting it, the OS is not supporting the latest security protocols so whichever browser running on it will also not be able to support them.
