how to use internal memory effectively

i have smartphone moto e and it has less internal memory so i root my phone so that i can mange internal memory effectively but now i don't how to clear internal memory or how to send them from phone memory to sd card but i did that thing, went to settings and move mostly all the apps to sdcard but still at last i am not able to do update any of my app because of low space availability. Can you help me by suggesting any method so that i can use my sdcard to store the apps .
