How do I use my selfie stick in my phone - Moto G2

i am not able to use selfie stick in my Moto G2 phone, can you please help me out?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it the kind you plug into the phone's headphone jack, or is it Bluetooth?

You typically have to make sure the Volume button is set as the shutter release. Open the Camera app, tap the settings icon, and look for an option that allows you to set the Volume button function.

If it's relevant, I came across what appeared to be a fake one recently, with no Bluetooth, no battery, no charging connector, no operating button, despite the packaging stating that it had all those features.
