When I have the headphones plugged in how do I turn off the external speaker for notifications?

Shortcut. Hit the volume rocker. See that gear? Hit it. Gives you 4 volume options.

Ok I guess why im asking is y isn't it automatic?

Plug in head phones= all sound goes through them not the ext speaker...

The speaker notifications are the only way to get them... unfortunately I think it's how it is programmed. Been a complaint on many phones since I can remember
