I don't have the cheezy Samsung Spen case or that thing Spigen case. So how do you carry the spen? Is it safe to carry in your side pocket without damaging it?

I don't, it sits on a table at home.

If you have one, common sense should tell you how well it would do in a trouser pocket...

Mine seems fine in the pocket with my phone. It depends on how tight your pockets are, though, and whether they're positioned so they fold when you bend.

Can someone verify if any S pen will work with it? I have an order Samsung Tab 8 that came with an S pen and curious if I can use that pen with the ultra?

Every S Pen is powered by the same Wacom tech and work across Note devices. Newer devices have pens with narrower tips and more levels of pressure sensitivity but the old pens still work.

Yup. Also, the new S21-specific S Pen is much larger than the Note S Pens, which makes it easier to manipulate. They can get away with that now that they don't have to cram the pen inside the phone. (You could probably splint a smaller S Pen to a larger rod to achieve the same effect less expensively.)

Thanks for that! That helps in making my decision to get the Ultra instead of the plus. Appreciate it.

I'll have to find my tab s3 pen and see if it works. It had a clip in it so you could clip it onto your shirt. That would be perfect.

That would be annoying carrying around the S pen .

I have 2 cases both spigen, one regular liquid air for when I don't want to carry the spen and the liquid air that holds the spen when I do. I usually carry the spen case at work and when I'm not the regular case.

Mildly off topic, but does anyone else think the S-Pen is comically overpriced? I got my official one for about £20 and even then it's not really worth it.

I think they should retail for £10/$15. The idea of them being £35/$40 is actually insane. It feels like Samsung thought "we sold these chumps a £1200 phone, we can literally milk them for anything!".

I too have fought with this. I have the Spigen case with the S pen holder but I hate it too wide and it doesn't protect the phone at all. My case of choice is the Speck Grip been using this case for the last 3 phones. I think I wasted $32 on that S pen.

The S22 Ultra is rumored to have a s pen slot built into the device like the Note series.

If it has a S pen slot , it is a Note don't care what they name it .

But aren't Notes released after the s series. With a few minor upgrades or enhancements. So a S22 Ultra having a built in slot just makes it more convenient, but doesn't necessarily make it a Note.
