Re: how do you change your password if it keeps saying incorrect on screen lock

Hello, welcome to Android Central!

Just curious to know what phone (I'm assuming that it is a phone) do you have? Do you have a Google account? You may be able to change/reset your password on there.

  • Go to AuthSubTokens and enter your login details to see if your Android device is listed.
If your device is listed, it will be shown as an "Android Phone"

  • Revoke access for the device.

  • Generate a new password.

    1. At the bottom of the page, you will see an option to "Generate New Application-Specific Password".
    2. Enter any name and click on "Generate Password".
    3. A 16-digit password will be generated.
    4. Enter this new password in your Android device, along with the correct Google ID.

  • If the "Generate password" option is disabled, you'll need to enable 2-Step Verification.

  • Follow the 2-Step Verification link to Google, and set up 2-Step Verification.
  • Depending on your device, you'll receive options from Google to generate a new password and access your Android device using the 2-Step Verification process.

Hope all works out for you.

Re: how do you change your password if it keeps saying incorrect on screen lock

Peace. Hi. Hope u all are fine.

My deduction: Most of us copy paste passwords from another app and when pasting like that, with the recent updates, hidden code is taken with passwords and so it is not accepted? Definitely something that needs to be corrected by Android.

Solution for now: Do not copy paste. Instead look and directly write on the form fields. Has worked for me.
