How do you completely turn off the Samsung Galaxy 6 Active?

I need to turn off my phone while over seas. How do I completely turn off my phone so I do not get charged for text messages that come through? I can turn off the data but how to I turn off texting?

Hi, welcome to the forums! You could try a couple of different things.

Switch aeroplane mode on and just enable WiFi, Bluetooth, etc when you need it. This is what I prefer to do when travelling.

Switch your SIM card off in the settings or even remove it from the card slot.

I don't know about your carrier, but Verizon allows you to block all texts on the plan.

The only way to turn off texting is to disable it on your mobile plan, but you will lose any texts that are sent to your number while it is disabled. There is no going back from that. Better off having unlimited texting these days.

I traveled through Europe for awhile, and all I needed to do was place the phone in Airplane mode. I picked up a hotspot, as I was there for 3 months, and used the wifi to do all of my communications back home.
