How do you get the on screen keyboard from showing up?

When I am using the actual keyboard on my Pixelbook, the on-screen keyboard keeps popping up. This usually happens when I am making corrections and I find it irritating. Invariably the keyboard will pop up right where I am trying to make the correction. It just loves to cover up Logins too. Yes, I know that if I tap the keyboard icon it will disappear temporarily. It seems that there ought to be some sort of a toggle that would prevent the on-screen keyboard from showing up when the Pixelbook is fully open and the actual keyboard is in use? Does anyone have a solution?

Are you frequently switching between tablet format and laptop format?

Yes, my preferred mode is tablet, but if I have a lot of typing to do, such as a Word document or email, I prefer to use the actual keyboard.

Does this problem usually happen right after switching from tablet to laptop format? If so, maybe the system is just lagging behind a bit in terms of recognizing the format.

No, it happens whenever I use the actual keyboard short term or long term.

I think I just figured it out. I had the " Enable On-Screen Keyboard" toggle on.
