How do you import video from T'bolt to iMovie

I have shot some video on my T'bolt, which comes up in a format that iMovie does not recognize. That surprised me. What do I do to import that video into iMovie? Can I convert the file format to one that is recognized? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

It's not surprising at all, Apple computers don't support quite a few formats without converting them. I'd download Handbrake, it's a free application that will convert it to the file extension of it's liking.
