How Do You install APK files

I have found a free download of an Android game "Backstab" apk file. Can someone please help me with clear step by step direction how to install downloaded apk file for the Htc Inspire 4G. thank you in advance

There's several ways to do it. The easiest way is to just download the apk file from your phone's browser, then open it from the Downloads.

Or, you could connect the phone to your computer and copy it manually, then using a file manager like Astro browse to it and open it.

I already called AT&T today and they were awesome and they pushed the upgrade to my phone so now I have the "Unknow Source" option. so I can sideload apps that is not a problem.

Where did you download the apk file to? Your pc or phone?
Transfer or find it on your sd card and just tap it. The OS will do the rest.

You need a file explorer application to find the apk on the phone.
Most people use Astro but I have been using ES File Explorer lately because it is ad-free.
