Re: How do you like your Pixel 3a XL so far

I have been very happy with mine so far. I previously came from an LG G6, which I had for over 2 years, but this phone just works so effortlessly, I didn't realize what limitations my old one had.

The camera is truly outstanding, and while the picture processing time is a little delayed, it's not a problem for me.

It also doesn't hurt that I got it for $379. With phone prices reaching the $1000 range, it was nice to find such a feature-laden phone at such a low price.

I like mine a lot and I've been using flagship phones for years. Lately I've had the LG V10, Galaxy S8, iPhone 8+, Galaxy S9+, OnePlus 6T, and now the Pixel 3a(non XL).

Wireless charging, an SD card slot, 6GB of RAM, smaller bezels and LG's headphone output quality and power would be cool, but whatever. This thing is perfect otherwise. I know that's a lot of improvements I just listed, but I don't really NEED any of that.

No complaints so far. Came over from One Plus 6T and considering what I paid $399, it's very compatible to the One Plus. The phone shouldn't be used to run games but for everyday use such FB, Wattsapp, email text it's a great phone.

I can't give how light weight it is along with its size. I'm tired of large phones so I am very happy so far. 😁😁

This! Phones need to stop getting larger. This size screen with smaller bezels to make it shorter would be even better, but phones and screens need to start getting smaller again.

I've heard wonderful things about the Pixel 3a line! And good on Pixel for making a more affordable flagship line!

Let us know what you and your girlfriend decide!

I just picked up my pixel 3a XL tonight and the first thing I noticed was how light it is , I was carrying a brick in my pocket before ...... This is an awesome phone and I was a little worried about the screen brightness until I got it out in the light and it was wonderfully bright ...

That's amazing! So exciting! Happy Phone Day/Week! Let us know how you are enjoying that super-duper camera and display!

You have the XL! imagine how light the standard 3a is. My work phone (YUK) happens to be iPhone 8. With the Pixel in one pocket, the iPhone in the other I feel totally off balance lol.

I'm loving mine so far. It fits my needs perfectly and the battery life has exceeded my expectations. It's been so long since I've had a polycarbonate phone and I'm loving the light weight of this one and I'm less worried about drops.

I just picked one up tonight. Coming from an iPhone X. So far I like it. I have had most of the flagships so this is different for me. I’m actually liking the plastic feel as it is light. Really I just have to get out of my own head about it being a budget phone.

For the average smartphone user the Pixel 3a is everything you could want and more for the price. Yes, there are some hardware features missing, but nothing I deem necessary. I have really enjoyed using this phone. My wife had the Pixel 3 and I see no difference in performance.

Everything about the Pixel 3a line is premium - software, camera, functions, display - so I'm sure you'll get out of your head, so to speak! I get what you're saying about the plastic. But I think a lot of phone manufacturers nowadays are excelling at making "premium-feeling" plastic phones. Glad you are enjoying it!

Why did you leave the iPhone?

The phone does feel very lightweight. It was the first thing that I had noticed when I picked it up.

I think it all depends on your usage. I don't do mobile gaming and don't need a ton of local storage. I get by fine with pictures/videos in the cloud and streaming music. I do watch a fair bit of content but mainly use my phone to communicate and browse. All of this can wait be done with a mid tier phone. Three thing that really sets the 3a/3a xl spare is the camera. That's the main reason to get this $479 over a $200-$300 phone in the same class.

Why did you leave the iPhone?
Mainly just bored. Also tired of not being able to multi task. I have been a habitual phone switcher in the past but the fun is gone. I will say after having the pixel 3axl for a few days I love it! However, I am seriously contemplating exchanging it for the pixel 3...

So what's the attraction of the 3?

Compared to the 3a, it has a premium build, wireless charging, slightly better camera (due to PVC), is water-resistant with IP68, has front facing stereo speakers and a much faster processor. With recent discounts you can get the 3 for around $500-600, which is quite a bargain considering its original price was around $750 and that the 3a cost $400.
