How do you switch roms on Optimus V-- Ive tried ROM manager but nearly bricked my phone in the process. And do I have to wipe my phone before switching roms?

Place the rom you want to switch to on the root of your SD card (unless the page tells you to specifically place it elsewhere) and boot into recovery. Then do a factory reset/data wipe(from within the recovery) and clear both the cache and dalvik cache. Then you should be set to flash your new rom and enjoy.

Doesn't this wipe out all of your data, accounts, apps, etc?

If so, would using a backup solution - such as Titanium Backup Pro - restore those data, accounts, apps, etc?

Yes, TitaniumBackup will work, download it from the market after you flash your new ROM, then batch restore your apps. And remember:

Remember... ??

Hi Jerry,

Thank you for affirming my suspicions on the backup.

My last question is, Remember 'what'? It looks like whatever you wrote afterward didn't make it.

EDIT: Nevermind. The graphic didn't show up until after I wrote this reply. :D Go figure.

Cheers,
Robert~

Thanks to JerryScript, I felt confident enough to go put aospCM 20110516 on my phone. And thanks to Titanium Backup Pro, recovering my apps and data was a breeze! Just like Jerry said it would be.

Titanium Backup Pro was my first purchase for my phone a couple of months ago, and have been glad in the past for it. Now, I'm tickled pink with it. :)
