How do you think lollipop will look on the m8?

So I'm really excited for lollipop, as I'm sure you all are as well. However, since the M8 uses sense 6 and not stock Android how many of the changes will we even see. I know we'll get all the behind the scenes and backend stuff, but will our phone look any different visual? I'd be disappointed if I missed out on the great material design look.

I think they'll utilise a lot of the new UI from lollipop, like the notifications and quick settings.

Sense 6 was already flat like material design, so there won't be a big difference

Using lollipop now, I like it a lot

I hope so. Even though my m8 is a carrier version, I still prefer the look if stock android. So I'm hoping they make it as close to that as possible. Or that google makes the google now launcher look like lollipop

I tried Google Now Launcher on my M7. It is TERRIBLE in comparison to Sense. Absolutely no polish. The icons are huge and not high enough resolution. The interface is clunky. It looks almost beta. It needs a lot of work. Lollipop has taken a lot of queues from Sense. I expect it to be a smooth transition.

It may be flat but it's nothing like material design. Nowhere near. I hope that's the direction they go in though.

Here's looking to see it sooner than later...

With HTC having worked with Lolly 5.0 for a while (due to their Nexus 9 tablet), i assume that they have been making good progress.

Hope 5.0 doesn't get delayed due to skinning it...

With the G3 getting before the end of the year and the ongoing MotoX soak test of 5.0, I really hope that that HTC gets it to us by late Dec.

Of course there is always the carriers issues...

What on earth are you talking about? Lollipop looks NOTHING like Sense. Lollipop is clean and modern. Sense looks antiquated. Even stock Kit Kat 4.4.4 looks WAY more modern than Sense.

I'm quite happy with Sense 6. They can leave the "candy" alone & concentrate on the important stuff.

They should have left perfectly working stock alone and not wasted any time or money on useless Sense.

I didn't say it looked like Lollipop. I said it took queues from Sense. Where do you think they got the drag two fingers down to get quick toggle settings from? The drop down notification has similarities. Once you get into the notifications you can drag the notification down to get more info like Sense. I don't want Sense to be as colourful as 5.0. I prefer the dark tones that Sense has. It looks more professional.

That's what the GPE version is for. I and many others prefer Sense over stock.

For all people arguing about Sense/Stock/TouchWiz .... etc, and which is better, maybe you should just get rid of your Android device and just buy an iPhone, seriously just stop your nonsense, each can like whatever they want, there is no such thing as wrong ones in such matters.

Agree 100%. Pure stock GPE is clearly best. It's not even worth debating.
