How do you unlock the sim port

Attempted to put tmobile sim in a life wireless phone but forgot sim unlock password so now tge phone itself locked the sim port

If you have blocked your sim card by entering 3 wrong pin codes then you need your sim's PUK code: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_unblocking_code
That should be on the original packaging of the sim card or you might be able to get it from your provider.

If not, and you're just trying to get a TMobile phone to accept another carrier's card, T-Mobile SIM Unlocking has instructions for obtaining the unlock code. (It's different for each handset, so you have to get it from them or someone else who has a list [and will charge you for it].)
