How do you use Samsung smart multimedia hub with s5?

I recently bought a Samsung smart multimedia hub for my s5 after reading online that it would work with the s5. This is what complicates this: my screen (display and touch) on my s5 is broken. I know the phone works as notifications, the LED for notifications, sound, the two touch "buttons," and OTG functions (I can only assume mouse works but haven't been able to confirm. Keyboard works because I unlocked the encryption lock). Also, I can unlock the phone via my fingerprint. I have to tilt the phone to make the phone's connections touch the connectors on the dock, when mounted, to charge. (I know this because it makes a sound when charging and only makes that sound when I tilt it.) This is how I know the phone is at least connected to the dock. But, are there any further steps I have to take to make the phone's image to be duplicated on my monitor via HDMI, as it is not projecting the phone's image on the screen.
