Hey everyone,

I've been lurking around here for a while oddly my first post is about getting rid of my android phone but such is life. I am selling my EVO 4G to my friend and cancelling my account with sprint, moving over to at&t.
What steps do I need to perform to wipe everything from my EVO?
How does my friend go about getting sprint to transfer his line and number over to the phone?
Do I need to cancel my account with sprint before he transfers his number or should I wait until after?

Thanks for the help.

To wipe your phone go into settings>privacy aand do a factory wipe. This will erase all data on your phone and return it to the state that it was in when you receive it. This does not wipe your SD card. I'd you are giving that to him as well and want to wipe it, there are two ways to do this. First, you can go into settings>storage and erase all data on SD card. The other way is to plug your phone into your computer as a storage device and erase the SD cars via USB connection. Doing it this way allows you to save and data that you want to keep from your SD card.

To transfer this phone to him with Sprint, you can do that at a Sprint store. If you are staying with Sprint, I would transfer your number to a new phone then transfer the Evo to him.

I hope this helped some.

Wish I could buy an evo from someone I know, I dropped mine last night and the screen looks like a spider web.

My friend might be bailing on the sale now, if you are interested send me a PM and we can talk.

Call a Sprint Repair Center and ask them if they still replace the screens. I haven't ever had to replace my screen, but I remember them doing a No Questions Asked replacement on screens for around 30 bucks. Even if you didn't have their Total Equipment Protection Plan thing.
