How does Huawei Watch 2 4G work?

Hi, the new Huawei Watch 2 takes a 4G simcard. How does this work with your current phone?
You remove the SIM from your phone and use it in the watch when running? or you buy a separate simcard (would mean a different number and data plan $$$)?
I can't find this detail in any of the reviews.

I have multisim option... 2 sim cards, one number... both devices rings but the other one that you didn’t answer you get missed call. Works perfectly. I am from Croatia, some mobile providers doesn’t allow multi sim, but my does. All internet, calls etc. both cards shares.
