How does my moto g 5G not have NFC?

Just set up Google Pay with a credit card. Message says no NFC support. Phone is a 2022 model.

Is there any way to be able to use tap without NFC?

Tap to pay requires NFC, so you're out of luck, I'm afraid.

Just read that. They should have put NFC instead of Bluetooth. NFC seems much more important.

My satisfaction level with this phone went from a 9.5 to 6. FML

Thinking about it, does it really take longer to take out my credit card and tap than phone? I do use a money clip so that might make a difference.

Many smartwatches and fitness bands have NFC these days, so if you're in the market for one, that would be an additional reason to get one.
