how does the lg health app differentiate between walking and running

there is no way to input whether I am walking or running when using the app. How does LG decide which one to use

Welcome to Android Central! Does it automatically decide for you? If so, it's probably using the motion sensors to determine if you're bouncing a lot more and moving at a faster speed (which would happen while running, not walking).
