How fast is your 3G on EVO with Sprint

This is using a Sprint Palm Pre in southwest VA. This is faster than the DSL I used to have so I'm happy with it! I guess it all just depends on where you are.

Are you using 4G or just 3G? If 3G you are rocking it compared to me. Can you send a screen shot of your "about phone" "software" so I can see what your phone is running on (tower, software etc).

Im in 3g... unfortunatly

This isn't the fastest I did but it is average for my area and real signal has it as 4 bars. I don't know how to do screenshots but I am in the panhandle of florida

Here's my fastest on my pre

thank you mytether

I get 1.5 down and .8 up. (NW Subs of Chicago)

The 4G coverage is like 5 miles from my house *grumles* but Im hoping it will change. It sucks that its basically down the street is 4G. But when Im at work I get full 4G signal, so I'll test it tomorrow.

For some reason every time I try to do the speed test. it wants me to test from Kansas and I'm in Florida. Is there a way to refresh something so my phone knows it is not in the middle of the US?

I'm in Irvine, CA and for some reason getting really slow speeds.. plus I'm roaming ALOT.

Who streams netflix over 3G? I'm pretty sure most places with 3G would have issues streaming netflix in any kind of decent quality.

And then there are those of us in major cities, inside big concrete buildings (I DO have a window about 3 ft from me though) that get THIS:

Down- 0.11Mbps Up- 0.21 Ping 170ms

Let's try again.....20 seconds later. 0.30/0.31/178

Once more, just for kicks. 0.42/0.42/179

Gee, I should just sit here and let it get better all the time! In a month, it'll be "normal". My 4G in the loop is worse than 3G on a good day.

Cracks me up.

I think Netflix non-HD streams are encoded at 1.5Mbps and less. They actually look pretty good on a laptop using 3G if you can sustain over 1Mbps, better at >1.5Mbps. A friend does it a lot over tethered Treo phone and is satisfied.

Hm, he's lucky to be getting those speeds consistently. Good to know though, thanks.
