How "future proofed" do you think the Note 9 is?

Uhh....I am still using the Note 3, which I got for free, from a friend who compulsively upgrades every year. Typing on it right now. It has circled the earth during my many years of travel. It has been on tops of mountains, dropped onto glaciers, shoved into cave resurgences (in one of the three cases I have destroyed over the years).

Only thinking of upgrading (to 512 GB) now because I am tired of chronically running out of internal storage. Otherwise the phone still works great.
