How good is Samsung Internet?

I use Samsung's internet app every now and then, but I am definitely more of a Chrome user.

Just curious cause I was playing with Chrome a little more to revisit the differences and see if any changes and such... is there a secret I'm missing that would make Chrome just as easy to pop out the phone out of pocket , unlock with FPS, load SIB and bring up a frequently used page in a bookmark all one hand? I'm trying to find some hidden side swipe to bring up favs or something. The minimalist style just doesn't seem practical for this application and in the days of tall phones.

I mean I even customized the bottom tool bar to have close reach with my thumb to the home and favorites to load frequent pages one handed. I kept the arrow in case I want to use two finger forward/back but the back arrow really is not needed since I can back swipe with my thumb/fingers. I don't use tabs really but kept the button just in case and so much more friendly open new tab by holding down the icon and switching tabs by one touch and shows in card style where you can swipe down to scroll to press... all one handed.

Really impressed Samsung did such a good job and that the details were really really well thought out. So much so that if I ever went another Android phone, I'd probably run SIB on it lol. Too bad they don't make a Windows version to tie peoples desktop/laptop browsing together.

The new easier way to copy url is much better.

Personally I found Google Chrome to be a large resource hog on my phone's so as such it's one of the first things I disable and Continue to use the Samsung Internet option.

Doesn't help that we're running a 64-bit Chrome with 8gb ram min requirement to run?

I've also started to use SIB more than Chrome.. I've also dabbed in Firefox too, but so far more with SIB. Chrome, like their desktop browser, has just become such a resource hog and they sat on their laurels too long without optimizing. It doesn't even allow for extensions. Meanwhile I feel like they've improved SIB a lot and even Firefox.

I was playing with Firefox earlier today too since I have it installed. I have barely used it but I keep it cause my main desktop browser of choice is Firefox so I keep the app in case I want to grab a bookmark from my desktop bookmarks. I have to say I didn't find it much better than Chrome.

There is a difference that the URL bar is at the bottom and if you hold your phone right handed you can hit the hamburger button on the corner and access the menu features and maybe reach to get bookmarks and such. Would be nice if they can customize it to move hamburger button to left side for left holding users... and customize the bottom of the options box that pops up when you press the hamburger button.

Does Firefox not have a swipe down to reload a page?? That's probably a deal breaker for me cause I refresh a lot... maybe its one of my fidget tool things I like to do and can't not have it lol.

I did notice I can't swipe down to reload on pages, but if you go to hamburger button and bookmarks, you can swipe down and it reloads the bookmarks for you. Why refresh your bookmarks??

Another oddity but on Chrome... it does have swipe down to reload pages. But it will not allow you to do that on Googles own google.com page in their own Chome browser??!! But I can swipe/reload Google page in SIB all day.

At least I couldn't so be interesting to hear if others can. And the Google page is my home page because it picks news article based on all the data grabbing they been doing over the years. So I am always refreshing my Google home page in my SIB with a swipe down.

Not bad, but I am a confirmed Firefox fan. I see no reason to change, especially as I can sync my data across all my devices where I use Firefox.
