My Note2 has never been higher than 84?F. Never feels hot. My HTC devices always ran warmer!

Hm, well I uninstalled the games and put them on my S3 so we shall see how that goes.

Mines 88? right now. There has been a few times it has felt hot but i didnt check the temp then.

Not only has my N2 never gotten hot (including while playing AB), it never feels warm. I used to own a Star Tac. During phone calls that sucker got so hot it felt like it was literally going to burn my cheek. I couldn't hold it tightly to my face during lengthy phone calls. the heat from that phone was ridiculous.

Never felt any heat from mine even when streaming NFL games for three+ hours. My Thunderbolt though used to get quite warm (near 100F, sometimes a bit more). I think it has a lot to do with the Exynos quad core processors (more efficient) and the general size of the Note 2, larger surface area to spread any heat around. :)

Overheating phone is a symptom of a short in the circuitry. I'd take it back for warranty service.

I wouldn't be so sure that GSAM battery has the accurate information - how is it measuring temperature and where?

well, after un installing "are u smarter than a 5th grader" it has not gotten anywhere as hot as it did the other night. I installed the game on my S3 and played it and got real hot too. so I'm banking that the game just requires a lot of cpu usage causing the cpu to get hot. I hope.

Try charging your phone while being in the Belkin flip case with screen on its highest brightness for 30?60 minutes.

Are you talking about phones that have the similar class/type of processor like the DNA (which has the s4 pro cpu) or at least the same generation like the DInc 4glte (which has the dual core s4), or are you referring to an older generation cpu like the s3 in the Rezound or 2 generations older like the s2 in the thunderbolt?

It is more of a newer generation of cpu. My gs3 and note 2 get warm, maybe close to 100 ?F. The thunderbolt has a cpu that is 2 generations old. My thunderbolt got to 130?F.

Short??? If u short a battery it goes up in smoke.
Not really - unless it's a complete short to ground, in which case that could happen. But cold-solder joints and other manufacturing flaws can cause partial shorts that generate heat and reduce battery life.

I've seen mine get to about 98? when plugged into the car charger, running a navigation app and the screen on 100% of the time. It cools down pretty quick once it's all shut down though. I attributed it to the lengthy screen time.

A short is just that. Your "partial" short is a resistor.

Recently I had full 4G service and decided to see just how much I could do with it. Activated tge HotSpot, connected my original Moto DroidX and started playing Netflix thru hdmi to my tv. At the same time I was downloading "Ted" in hd(1.44gb) and playing on YouTube. Suprisingly the data speed was great. Netflix never stopped to buffer. I have my battery widget set to alarm at 115? and it went off. That's when I disabled the HotSpot and got off YouTube until the movie finished downloading. Had my droidx up to 134? once. If I break 115, and I'm sure it will, I'll post it on here.

pretty much the only thing that raises the temp of mine is direct sun light(i live in FL). last week while waiting in the car for my father who was in a dr office, i had to turn on the ac a couple times and put my phone in the shade. i had it up to 105 briefly
