How i can show text message history in samsung s7

Okay so when i go to the option click on top right of the calls log
It gives me some more options for the log which is call duration
Filter by , setting
So when i choose filter by
Its only say all voice calls, missed calls, dail numbers ,voice calls, video call
Nothing about t showing the text message history and even when i choose all still nothing shows in log

On my Nexus, the text history part of the contact doesn't show a large selection of messages from contacts. I think it has to do with what messaging app was used at the time, or which one was considered the Android "default" at the time - Hangouts - which I continue to use but it is not the default text app anymore.
