How important is ANT?

Is ant and ant plus something that can be lived without or are they important?

IIRC it's related to health apps and third party HR Monitors. I have a polar unit that I use now and then and need it reactivated. Otherwise, I disable it.

I disabled it and have found no use for it from my side.

I thought I had disabled them before without consequence but wasn't sure. Thanks for the help guys.
