I was considering picking up a z3 but I don't like bloat. Definitely not a Samsung guy. I have a Moto x that I'm happy with and was set on the Moto X 2 but may try something different. What do ya think?

Haven't had a chance to use a Sony. I have heard they are like the current Motos; some bloat but not going overboard with it.

I'd rather not have to Root. Just my preference. Anyone else that has a Z2 give me some info on this?

There are a few Sony apps that are pre-installed and can't be uninstalled there are also built in support for Sony services in the gallery and videos app.
None of these are a major problem IMHO, you either use them or ignore them.

The "What's new" pop up sharing the same gesture as Google now is terribad IMHO and has made me stop using Google now from the gesture just in case I accidentally launch What's new ;)

Apart from the Whats new irritation the rest is relatively easy to ignore.

I bought the Z2 and HATED it stock. WAY TOO much bloat for me. I unlocked Bootloader, Rooted and installed CyanogenMod. Couldn't be happier.

I personally feel that the level of bloat is acceptable, especially if compared to Samsung and HTC. I think you'll be happy with it.

Well, it's still better than Samsung's bloatware. Also, you can simply block the app in Android Settings.
